Hydro Excavation

At Northern Plant Services, we offer hydro excavation as a safe, precise, and non-destructive alternative to traditional hard digging methods. Skilled operators use advanced equipment to enhance productivity, improve safety, reduce costs, and minimize the risk of damage to underground utilities or structures.

Also known as daylighting, potholing, or non-destructive excavation, hydro excavation uses high-pressure water to break up soil, which is then vacuumed into a debris tank—safely exposing subsurface utilities and infrastructure. All-in-one hydro excavation trucks integrate water tanks, vacuum systems, and debris storage, ensuring efficiency and mobility on every project.

In certain applications, air excavation can be used in place of water. This technique allows the displaced soil to remain dry and reusable for backfilling, offering an environmentally friendly option when conditions permit.
