Sonar Profiling

Ensuring the integrity of surcharged pipes is essential for maximizing operational reliability, reclaiming capacity, and minimizing financial risks.

Northern Plant Services utilizes advanced sonar inspection technology to safely and accurately profile surcharged pipes, helping you save time and reduce costs. Unlike conventional Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), which only provides condition assessment data above the spring line due to water clarity limitations, sonar inspection captures detailed data below the spring line. This allows for comprehensive inspections of pipes with high flow levels, including surcharged pipes and siphons.

Our sonar inspection system is ideal for pipes 18 inches in diameter and larger, especially where bypass pumping is impractical. It enables accurate quantification of debris and identification of significant structural anomalies.

For complete condition assessments, our experienced field service technicians can combine CCTV and sonar technologies (TISCIT), capturing data both above and below the spring line. This integrated approach provides thorough, reliable information and actionable recommendations to prevent failures and maintain continuous service.
